Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully. By clicking "Accept", or by installing or using the Zentek Studio beta software ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, click "Decline & Quit" and do not use the Software.
1. Beta Software
The Software is a pre-release BETA provided for evaluation and testing. It is a work in progress, may contain bugs or errors, may be unstable, may change or be withdrawn at any time, and may produce incorrect results. Do not rely on it for production, commercial, safety-critical, or otherwise important work. Always keep independent backups of your files.
2. License
Zentek Software ("we", "us", "our") grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software solely to evaluate and test it during the beta period. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or distribute the Software, or reverse engineer it except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
3. No Warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ITS OUTPUT. INCLUDING EXPORTED GEOMETRY OR FILES. WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR MANUFACTURING. VERIFY ALL OUTPUT BEFORE RELYING ON IT.
4. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
5. Anonymous Usage Statistics (Telemetry)
To improve the Software, we can collect ANONYMOUS usage statistics. This is optional: you control it with the checkbox on the acceptance screen and at any time under Help -> View License.
What we collect:
- App version; operating system and version.
- A hardware summary: CPU cores, memory, screen size, and the graphics card / OpenGL renderer (to diagnose display problems).
- Which features and export formats you use, and how long a session lasts.
- Crash and error reports. Before sending, anything path-shaped (drive, network share or home-relative), file names included, is replaced with a placeholder, and your username is removed.
What we DON'T collect:
- Your drawings or their contents.
- File names or file paths.
- Your name, email, IP address, or any other personal data.
How it is stored:
- Tagged only with a random per-session ID that is not linked to your device and cannot identify you or track you across sessions.
- Sent over HTTPS to our own server in the European Union.
- Kept in our private database. We do not sell or share it.
- Kept for at most 90 days, then deleted automatically. Aggregate figures worked out from it (for example how many sessions used a feature) may be kept longer, because they are counts that relate to no one in particular.
You can turn this off at any time; doing so stops all further collection immediately, including crash reports and the aggregate advertising counts described in section 6.
6. Advertising (Free Version)
The free version shows a small advertisement panel. Once per launch the Software fetches the current set of advertisements from our server; that request carries the app version, operating system name and interface language, so the server can pick which ads to send. Ads are NON-PERSONALIZED: no profile, no cookies, no tracking. If telemetry (section 5) is enabled, the Software also reports anonymous AGGREGATE counts of ad views and clicks, tagged only with the same per-session random ID, so campaigns can be billed and capped. Turning telemetry off stops that reporting; the panel itself remains part of the free version.
7. License Validation, Updates and Export Marking
The Software periodically contacts our license server to validate its activation. These requests carry a hardware-derived fingerprint of your machine and your computer's network name, used solely for license node-locking and abuse prevention; they are processed under our contract with you and are never combined with the telemetry described in section 5.
On startup the Software checks our server for a newer version by fetching a small signed manifest. If one is available it is downloaded, its signature and checksum are verified, and it is installed.
Files exported for manufacturing may embed a short, non-reversible marking derived from your license, used only to trace the origin of a file if it is redistributed in breach of these Terms. It contains no personal data and cannot be read back into your identity by anyone without our license records.
8. Feedback
If you send us feedback, bug reports, or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use them to improve our products, with no obligation to you.
9. Termination
The beta may end, and your access may be suspended or terminated, at any time and without notice. On termination you must stop using the Software.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will ask you to accept the updated Terms the next time you launch the Software.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Belgium have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
